LSGH Organizes Relief Efforts For Mindanao Victims of Typhoon Sendong

According to recent reports, around 600 have died (and/or missing) from flash-floods and continuous rains brought about by Typhoon Sendong in Mindanao.

In this report from the ABS-CBN website:

Cagayan de Oro city reported 215 dead, and nearby Iligan city lost 144 residents, Philippine National Red Cross secretary-general Gwen Pang told AFP.

Iligan mayor Lawrence Cruz described rampaging floodwaters from swollen rivers that swamped up to a quarter of the land area of the city of 100,000.

“It’s the worst flood in the history of our city,” Cruz told local television. “It happened so fast, at a time when people were fast asleep.”

As such, in an effort to help our brothers in need, La Salle Green Hills has launched relief efforts.

In an announcement at the De La Salle Philippines facebook page, it says:

La Salle Green Hills is organizing a RELIEF OPERATION for the victims of the FLASH FLOODS / TYPHOON in MINDANAO especially ILIGAN City. Goods and Cash donation may be brought to Gate 2 starting Monday, 19 December 2011.

Please inform all our batchmates, alma matter, families and friends.

Let’s all pray for our brothers in Mindanao. Especially our brothers in La Salle Iligan.
